THE ASK

As STARZ’s social AOR, we were tasked to create pre-premiere and in-season social content for the season two return of Ash vs Evil Dead.

THE SOLUTION | HE’S BACK BABY

We made a gory splash across social by tapping into Ash’s cult following. From serialized content pulling the greatest — and grossest — fan reviews, to having fans play a part in naming all the different blends of weed in Ash’s Stash, to developing a spin-off figurine series that allowed our fans to see a different side to their favorite characters. Season two was not only going to be the best yet, but it was going to be a hell of a good campaign to work on!

STASH OF FAN RAVES

After the release of the first trailer for the new season at San Diego Comic Con, we collected the fan praise that was shared across social and featured them in our custom social imagery. We received such high interaction with our audience that we used them to help inform the outcome of some of our uniquely composited content. From naming the articles featured on the cover of “Ashy Splashy”, to submitting unique bud names for Ash’s stash of weed.

GROOVY TOY TIME

For Instagram, we upped our game by launching our Groovy Toy Time series. Documenting the unlikely adventures of Ash and Eligos, we created a universe where the two characters are friends instead of enemies. Click through the links below to watch their story unfold.

DAILY SOCIAL CONTENT

To promote the premiere and tune-in for new episodes we created serialized content buckets that tackled it all. From meme like content, to pull quotes from episodes — we created over 100 unique assets throughout the season and saw the highest engagement yet for the series.

THE RESULTS

We saw the highest engagement so far for Ash vs Evil Dead, and were Shorty Award finalists for Best in Television both in 2016 and 2017.
With the success of this campaign, I was made the lead creative on the STARZ Originals AOR account and oversaw my own team to execute the creative content for the remaining Original Series in 2017.
